Presidential Gifts Presented to Veterans and Widows of Fallen Soldiers on the Occasion of the 81st Anniversary of Victory Day

08.05.2026

A solemn event was held at the “Mekan” Palace in Ashgabat to mark the 81st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. During the ceremony, war veterans and the widows of fallen soldiers were presented with monetary awards and valuable commemorative gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.

Prior to the start of the ceremony, participants toured a special exhibition dedicated to the war years. The exhibition featured historical artifacts from that period, copies of soldiers’ letters, and various wartime materials. These exhibits served as a poignant reminder of the heroism displayed during the war years.

The cultural program opened with the song “Mert ogullar” and a literary-musical composition titled “Mert ýigitler gaýrat üçin dogulýar,” performed by artists from the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theatre. These performances honored the unparalleled courage shown both on the battlefield and the home front.

The award ceremony became a symbol of the profound respect held for the heroism of our people and the exemplary labor of our silver-haired mothers in the rear. Similar festive celebrations were held with great enthusiasm not only in the capital but also in all provinces of the country.
