On May 22, the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), one of the most significant international events, was successfully held in our white-marbled capital city of Ashgabat. Organized at a high organizational level, this international summit opened a new historical chapter in elevating the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation among the member states of the Commonwealth to much higher levels.
As officially reported by the “Watan” news program, in accordance with the special instruction of the President of Turkmenistan, the delegation of our country at this high-level meeting was led by H. Geldimyradow, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The official part of the meeting commenced with the adoption of the agenda through the consensus of the participating parties. Following the unanimous approval of the agenda, comprehensive discussions took place regarding the most active and vital issues of developing multifaceted cooperation within the framework of the CIS. Particular interest was expressed in the future prospects of mutually beneficial trade and economic relations among the Commonwealth member states, as well as strategic directions for boosting trade turnover. Furthermore, during the session, the issues concerning the specific date and organized venue for the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government were reviewed, and relevant decisions were adopted.
The official meeting, primarily following the scheduled program, successfully continued its work in an expanded format. During this session, productive, constructive, and friendly exchanges of views took place on the priority tracks of interstate cooperation. The participants of the meeting emphasized the necessity of further strengthening mutually beneficial economic partnership to ensure sustainable growth in the region. Along with this, in line with modern requirements, special attention was paid to expanding transport connectivity, improving the logistics system, widely integrating digital technologies into production, and creating modern mechanisms as well as new platforms for industrial integration.
Following the successful conclusion of the high-level meeting, a signing ceremony for the final documents was organized to legally consolidate the reached agreements and future plans. The signed documents will pave the way for the progressive development of relations among the parties across specific targeted areas.
The overall outcomes and the historic decisions adopted at the Ashgabat meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government were comprehensively presented during a press conference organized for media representatives at the conclusion of the event.
