01.06.2026

A school student from Turkmenistan has achieved great success at the XXIV International Research Competition “Young Scientist of the Year — 2026,” held in Penza, Russian Federation. Yhlas Gurbanmuhammedow, a 12th-grade student at the 24th School for Gifted Children in Mary city, stood out among his competitors with his research paper and earned the honorable 1st place. The mentorship and guidance of his school teacher, Guncha Atayewa, played a pivotal role in the young scientist’s success in this international arena.

Organized at an international level, the “Young Scientist of the Year — 2026” competition is regularly conducted by the “Nauka i Prosveshcheniye” (Science and Education) Science and Methodology Center based in Penza. The primary goal of this large-scale project is to encourage the scientific research activities of talented youth from around the world and to publish their modern scientific articles for the general public.

As per tradition, the young scientists who excel according to the results of this international competition are ceremoniously awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-degree diplomas. Furthermore, the best research papers submitted by the winners are included in a specially curated collection of international scientific articles and published as a separate edition.
