Russia and Thailand are reaching a trade turnover level of around $2 billion – RTDS

25.06.2026

June 25, 2026, Moscow. Following the Russia–ASEAN summit, Executive Director of the Russia–Thailand Business Council (RTDS) Vladimir Kovalev, in an interview with TASS, emphasized that companies from both countries show sustained interest in entering the markets of Russia and Thailand. According to him, this interest is not weakening but is gradually increasing from year to year.

Kovalev also noted that trade between the countries has already nearly reached $2 billion. According to him, along with this, the need for infrastructure development is also growing, and the sides are ready to work on such solutions.

“Even last year, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by more than 10%. We are gradually approaching the $2 billion trade turnover mark,” Kovalev noted. “And if there is trade turnover and it is growing, then infrastructure solutions are necessary. We will definitely find them.”
