A member of the Turkmenistan national team achieved great success at the Asian Cadet (Youth) Wrestling Championships for freestyle and Greco-Roman styles, held in Da Nang, Vietnam. Our talented wrestler, Shaapbas Esgerov, demonstrated high skill in the under-80 kg weight category and earned the Asian bronze medal.
In the match for third place, Shaapbas Esgerov defeated Japanese wrestler Yusei Nagata with a score of 9:3 to claim the bronze.
In the final match of this weight category, Iranian wrestler Amirali Mohammad Ferasati defeated Mandip Mandip of India with a dominant 10:0 score to capture the gold medal. The other bronze medal in this category went to Kazakh athlete Adilbek Erbolatov, who successfully defeated Nasim Khojaev of Tajikistan with a score of 12:1.
A total of 10 athletes represented the Turkmenistan national team in this tournament. Six of them competed in freestyle wrestling, while four challenged their opponents in Greco-Roman wrestling.
