On July 1, 2026, a cultural event dedicated to Turkmen-Iranian friendship was held at the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan. The program included the awarding of winners of the art contest “Friendship and Kinship between Iran and Turkmenistan in the Mirror of Common History, Culture, Art, and Heritage,” as well as the presentation of the Turkmen translation of the book “The Bountiful Iranian Table: Selected Dishes.”
The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan Ali Mojteba Ruzbehani, Cultural Affairs Advisor Abdolreza Abbasi, representatives of the embassies of Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan Charymyrat Yazmyradov, faculty and students of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, Persian language learners, and representatives of the mass media.
Speakers emphasized that such projects and competitions make a significant contribution to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties and fostering dialogue between the brotherly countries of Iran and Turkmenistan.
The jury reviewed more than 50 artworks and selected winners in two categories — professionals and amateurs. Winners received certificates and monetary awards, while all participants were presented with special diplomas.
The event also featured the presentation of the Turkmen translation of “The Bountiful Iranian Table,” translated by Ajap Igliyeva and Dunyagozel Berdiglyjova. The publication contains over 100 recipes of Iranian national dishes, organized into thematic sections. The presentation was accompanied by a video showcasing the secrets of preparation and the serving culture of Iranian cuisine.
