On September 1, 2026, celebrations marking the beginning of the new 2026–2027 academic year were held at all educational institutions of the country.
Traditionally, the festive events began with flower-laying ceremonies at the Independence Monument, as well as at the monuments to Berdimuhamed Annayev located at the Berdimuhamed Annayev Arkadag City Pedagogical Secondary Vocational School and Secondary School No. 27 in Yzgant settlement of Gokdepe etrap.
On the Day of Knowledge and Students, ceremonial assemblies were held at secondary schools, secondary vocational schools and higher educational institutions of the country, and the National Anthem of Turkmenistan was performed. Participants listened to the congratulatory message of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed to schoolchildren, students, teachers and education workers.
As part of the celebrations, new modern educational institutions were opened in Ahal, Dashoguz and Lebap velayats.
A new secondary school was commissioned in Gokdepe etrap of Ahal velayat. The school is equipped with modern educational facilities and multimedia systems. Necessary conditions have been created for students’ education, development of creative abilities and sports activities.
A new kindergarten was opened in Tejen etrap. The preschool facility provides all necessary conditions for children’s upbringing and harmonious development.
A new kindergarten was also opened in Dashoguz city, where educational, play and recreation facilities were created taking into account children’s age characteristics.
Two new secondary schools were commissioned in Farap and Charjev etraps of Lebap velayat. The new educational institutions provide opportunities for modern education, development of students’ creative abilities and sports activities. The new educational facilities are equipped with modern furniture, interactive multimedia systems, libraries, music rooms, and halls for sports and cultural activities. Preschool institutions include playrooms, classrooms, language laboratories and computer rooms.
