Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in the international seminar “Customs under the Regional Connectivity Agenda: Connecting the European Union with Central Asia, the Black Sea Region and the South Caucasus,” held in Warsaw, Poland, on September 7–9. The agency’s press service reported this.
The event was organized by the European Commission, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and Poland’s National Revenue Administration. Representatives of 15 countries, along with experts from relevant institutions of the European Union and the United Nations, attended the seminar. Its main objective was to strengthen customs cooperation along the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.
The participants discussed the development of the Single Window mechanism, coordination of transit operations through the eTIR system, improvements to risk management systems, and the implementation of digital solutions. During the practical sessions, the delegates familiarized themselves with modern information technologies and customs inspection equipment and visited the Warsaw Customs Office.
Following the seminar, the participants identified the main obstacles to cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor. They also agreed to prepare a draft joint action plan aimed at accelerating customs procedures, enhancing supply chain security, and further strengthening regional cooperation.
