Turkmen boxer Bayramdurdy Nurmuhammedov won a bronze medal at the World Boxing Championship in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in the weight category up to 71 kilograms. This prestigious tournament, organized under the auspices of the International Boxing Association (IBA), is one of the largest events in world boxing, with 428 boxers from 109 countries participating. Among them, representatives of the national team of Turkmenistan entered the ring and defended the sports reputation of our country.
In the weight category represented by Bayramdurdy, 36 boxers participated in the fight for medals. All of them are internationally recognized boxers. It is worth noting that the Russian boxer won a silver medal. The gold medalist in this weight category was Abylaykhan Zhusupov from Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that the national team of Turkmenistan participated in the world championship with three boxers. Along with Bayramdurdy Nurmuhammedov, Yhlas Gylychjanov in the weight category up to 60 kilograms and Dovlet Islamov in the weight category up to 92 kilograms entered the ring.
Thus, a Turkmen boxer won a world championship medal for the first time in history.
