President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke at the “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week” summit held in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. He emphasized that by 2030, the volume of greenhouse gases in the republic will be reduced by 35%, as reported by the press service of the head of state.
The event was also attended by the presidents of the UAE, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Seychelles, Rwanda, Nigeria, Uganda, and other leaders. Mirziyoyev highlighted that diversifying energy sources and significantly reducing the share of hydrocarbons are key conditions for mitigating climate change. These changes will enable sustainable development and global security.
The strategic goal of New Uzbekistan is to ensure environmental sustainability and economic growth through a “green” development model focused on resource conservation. By 2030, Uzbekistan aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 35%.
