Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. . On March 27, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the European Union delegation, headed by the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas. The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation and preparations for the upcoming summit to be held in early April in Samarkand.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to key areas of interaction between Uzbekistan and the EU, including trade, development of transport corridors, digitalization, green energy, environmental initiatives, and infrastructure modernization.
A separate topic of negotiations was the signing of a new Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU, as well as the process of the republic’s accession to the World Trade Organization.
The parties also exchanged views on pressing issues of the international and regional agenda.
It is worth noting that Kallas will also hold talks with Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
