According to Reuters, Kazakhstan exported 507,200 tons of liquefied hydrocarbon gas (LHG) in the first 10 months of 2025. This is 89,400 tons, or 15%, less than during the same period in 2024.
The decline is linked not only to market conditions but also to government measures: in October, Kazakhstan extended for another six months its ban on exporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by road and rail.
Context:
- Kazakhstan is one of Central Asia’s key producers of LHG.
- The export restrictions aim to secure domestic supply and stabilize prices.
- Reduced exports may affect neighboring countries that rely on Kazakh gas for their energy balance.
