A MEETING OF THE DELEGATION OF THE MEJLIS OF TURKMENISTAN WITH THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE PARLIAMENT OF GEORGIA WAS HELD

Delegation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili on April 23, 2025 who paid working visit to the capital city of this country Tbilisi, for participating in a meeting of the parliamentary friendship groups established on a bilateral basis between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

During the meeting, was noted the importance of bilateral visits between parliaments was emphasized with the aim of supporting the sustain relations established between the two countries based on parliamentary diplomacy.

The Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia emphasized the widely supported initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan in the international sphere as a permanent Neutral Sate and expressed great interest in further improving the relations established between Turkmenistan and Georgia on a bilateral and multilateral basis.

The parties exchanged views on the importance of improving the work of inter-parliamentary friendship groups, intensifying relations between relevant committees, young and women parliamentarians, and regularly holding meetings and discussions at the parliamentary level will contribute to the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the future.
